  • Across Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans, far-right politics has moved from the margins into the mainstream, reshaping public discourse through exclusionary narratives, fear, and authoritarian tendencies presented as “common sense.” This Toolkit responds to that reality by offering not only analysis, but practical strategies for democratic actors seeking to reconnect politics with people’s everyday lives. Rooted in the values of democracy, solidarity, dignity, and social justice, it explores how the far right adapts, gains legitimacy, and expands its influence across the region—while also highlighting concrete examples of resistance, collective action, and democratic resilience from Serbia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ultimately, this publication is an invitation to activists, organisers, trade unionists, politicians, and engaged citizens to build democratic alternatives that are visible, credible, and grounded in lived experience.
