Dear Madem.
On November 21, 1948 Professor G. Radbruch ,Heidelberg , will celebrate his 70th birthday. On the initiativeof his friends inside Germany Professor Jespers and ProfessorJellinek are preparing a collection of essays as a birthdaypresent. May we ask the many friends and pupils of ProfessorRadbruch who live outside Germany to help us in preparinga similar gift?
We should like to invite you to contribute somethingto such a collection, either an article on some aspects of yourwork, or personal reminiscences, a personal letter with photo-graph if possible, or a poem ete.
In order to achieve some kind of uniformity may weask that all contributions should be on quatto- size paper( thesize of this letter paper) so that they can be put together in a xusuitable folder. The contributions should be in English , French ,Italian or German. In order to make sure that they will reachProfessor Radbruch in time we should be glad if we could havethem in hand not later than August 15th.
In present conditions there is no certainty thatthese contributions can be published in a FESTSCHRIFT andtherefore contributors should consider themselves free to usethese papers for such other purposes which they may have in mind.
It would be helpful if you could let us know atyour early convenience whether we can expect as we very much hope,your co- operation in this joint effort.
