Democratic Germans Speak

The Association of Free Germans is a group of responsible Germans - composed of all democraticpolitical parties- incorporated under the laws of New York State on November 29, 1941. Its certificateof incorporation, together with the names and addresses of the incorporators, has been registered withthe Department of State of the United States as required by law.

It is the purpose of the members of the Association to cooperate with all of the agencies of theUnited States government in the prosecution of the war and in the solution of problems rising out ofthe war situation. It is their desire to serve the democratic cause especially by crystallizing democraticthought among Germans wherever they may be. As democratic citizens speaking the German languageand thus being in a position to appeal to the German people, they feel they can play an effective partboth during the war and in the period immediately following it.

They feel that the time has come for them to make their appearance before the American peopleand to present their ideas with regard to the reorganization of Germany during the post- war period. As collaborators in the activities of the Weimar Republic , they have devised a sketch of a second German republic which, in their opinion, will eliminate the weaknesses which permitted the rise of Hitler , andwhich will be appropriate to solve the social evolution which is expected. This sketch is herewith pre-sented to the statesmen of the United Nations and to the people of the Allied countries.
