Of course, Arbeiter Wohlfahrt USA could not undertake to provide the necessarymeans for Arbeiter Wohlfahrt Germany by its own strength alone. It was thereforewarmly welcomed that American relief organisarions, such as the International Rescue& Relief Committee and the Unitarian Service Committee included Arbeiter WohlfahrtGermany in their relief activities. We also gratefully acknowledge that the AmericanFriends Pervice Committee( Quakers ) participated to a large extent in this reliefwork. And we, of course, want to mention that Labor League for Human Rights( AFofL)has an outstanding record with regard to help the democratic Labor movement in Germany .But in spite of all these appreciable efforts during the past two years, it has notbeen possible to provide Arbeiter Wohlfahrt Germany even approximately with thatamount of help from USA which they would need in order to fill even the most urgentneeds. It is our sincere desire to improve this situation through the opening up ofmore End more important sources of contributions, and

Membership in CRALOG
Affiliation with CRALOG could be effectuated in an indirect manner only. Accordingto then prevailing federal regulations( beginning of 1946) Arbeiter Wohlfahrt USA asa newly founded organisation, could not became a direct member, but could only becomean auxiliary of one of the member agencies of CRALOG, Arbeiter Wohlfahrt decided toaffiliate with and thus become an auxiliary of the Labor League for Human Rights( AFofL),and our funds were raised under the Labor League's license number, and our reliefshipments to Germany made in their name.
Our relief work was made possible in the following ways: 1. own fund raising,meetings, collects; 2. Occasional joint fund raising affairs with other organisations;3. Contributions from our contacts over the country, and our sponsoring organizations.
The total of funds raised since the beginning of our work amounts to approximately$ 68,000.-. Not included in this amount is the value of used clothing which is beingcollected and shipped continuously. We work with a staff of voluntary helpers, andadministrative expenses are reduced to the salary of one employee.
