About the Author Zoe Gardner is a leading independent researcher, cam­paigner and commentator on immigration and asylum poli­cy in the UK and Europe. She has previously held research, policy and communications roles at the European Network on Statelessness, the Joint Council for the Welfare of Im­migrants, Asylum Aid, the Race Equality Foundation and the European Council on Refugees and Exiles. She is a founding member of the campaign group Another Europe is Possible.
