STUDY DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS YOUTH IN LIBYA FES MENA Youth Study: Results Analysis Asma Khalifa December 2022 This report explores questions around as well as the reasons behind the lack of political and civic engagement among Li­byan youth, what they think about climate change and how they perceive their prospects for the future, both in their perso­nal lives and in society. On the topic of identity, we in­vestigate the economic situa­tion of young people and how it is linked to the education sys­tem. Identity covers gender re­lations and how perceptions of expectations and adherence to those roles have changed. Young people’s lack of partici­pation in politics and their fo­cus on building good lives for their families does not consti­tute a withdrawal from public life, rather it is about them in­vesting their time and effort in­to a sphere that is within their control.
