STUDY DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS YOUTH IN LIBYA FES MENA Youth Study: Results Analysis Asma Khalifa December 2022 This report explores questions around as well as the reasons behind the lack of political and civic engagement among Libyan youth, what they think about climate change and how they perceive their prospects for the future, both in their personal lives and in society. On the topic of identity, we investigate the economic situation of young people and how it is linked to the education system. Identity covers gender relations and how perceptions of expectations and adherence to those roles have changed. Young people’s lack of participation in politics and their focus on building good lives for their families does not constitute a withdrawal from public life, rather it is about them investing their time and effort into a sphere that is within their control.
