What do right-wing parties offer women? This is the question posed by the synopsis of the six country studies in "Triumph of the Women Volume I," with a special focus on Poland and Hungary. Class politics, it turns out, is one of the key reasons why women ultimately accept the offers of right-wing parties. "It's economy, stupid!" - When women's emancipation - as in many neoliberal systems - is measured by their participation in the labor market, while they continue to do the unpaid care work, this inevitably places a heavy burden on them. This is where the right-wing parties' family policies come in: they offer women solutions regarding their economic interests, appealing primarily to their practical as opposed to strategic gender interests. Finally, a close analysis of these offers makes it possible for us to find suitable counter-strategies and better answers. Such answers must manage to combine strategic with practical gender interests in order to reach as many women as possible.
