Zusammenfassung
This study highlights the decisive role of youth in politics and society throughout the Indonesia’s political development journey, since before the independence until the recent Jokowi era. However, student movement, in particular, was brought into marginalization and polarization during the transformation of the political system in the early 2000s. With the demographic dominance of youth, currently, new alternative forms of activism have emerged, online and offline. The student movement has started to revive itself, while the right-wing populism is also rising to be the threat of it and the effects of pandemic are getting inevitable.
