Zusammenfassung
Economic policies focussing solely on GDP as the central measure of prosperity fail to pick up the full range of challenges faced by society. This study measures the development of prosperity in Germany between 2009 and 2015 using the new and significantly broader concept of the “magic square”. Using the “magic square” allows economic policy to be aligned much more closely with the four dimensions of well-being: economic, fiscal, social and ecological sustainability.
