In response to the Hungarian and Slovakian legal challenge of the mandatory refugee relocation scheme, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) rejected the claim on the 6th of September. This policy briefing explains why the Hungarian government still rejects the ruling and analyses how it is using the anti-migration narrative to sustain its power.
