To better understand the situation of youth in the MENA region, the FES conducted a large representative survey among young people in eight countries in 2016. This study presents selected results of the survey in Jordan. Jordanian society is a very young society. Young people, especially those with a good education, are highly affected by unemployment. Unlike other countries in the Middle East, protests in Jordan have been very limited. This raises questions about how Jordanian youth view the political, economic, and social situation in Jordan, as well as their personal situation. Overall, young Jordanians tend to be optimistic about the overall (future) situation in Jordan, in their families and in their personal lives.
