This report summarises the book “Det svenska missnöjet” (Swedish Discontent), which is based on over three hundred interviews in places in Sweden that are struggling socioeconomically and have high levels of support for the right-wing populist party – the Sweden Democrats. Immigration is used as a scapegoat to blame for low employment perspectives, a thinned-out infrastructure, a lack of public services and a fear of crime.
