This paper analyses the achievements and challenges of the Berlin Process, which was presented as a comprehensive platform of regional cooperation aimed at progress for the countries of the region towards the EU. The text also engages with the role that this process has played in the growth of regional cooperation and the main challenges facing the relationship between the EU and the Western Balkans. In light of new security conditions on the continent as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the paper is accompanied by recommendations aimed at consolidating the European project through a better connection between the Berlin Process and the Western Balkans� European integration process.
