Summary Throughout the year, Romania was under the weight of economic development in the European Union. Economic growth was slower than in 2011, being envisaged to increase by 0.9% as compared to 2.5% last year. This was mainly due to increased tensions in the euro area, as Romania’s trading partners are facing economic downturn.
