Boykottaufrufe gegen Israel Israel gerät immer stärker unter Beschuss internationaler Boykottaufrufe. Vor genau zehn Jahren wurde auf palästinensische Initiative die Bewegung BDS(Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) gegründet. BDS ruft zu einem allge­meinen Boykott Israels auf, um die israelische Besatzung aller Territorien, die von Israel im Sechs­Tage-Krieg erobert wurden, zu beenden, das „Rückkehrrecht“ der palästinensischen Flüchtlinge und ihrer Nachkommen durchzusetzen und die völlige Gleichstellung. der arabisch-palästinen­sischen Bürger_innen Israels zu erreichen. Kritiker der Bewegung, zu denen auch Palästinenser­Präsident Mahmud Abbas zählt, meinen jedoch, dass BDS im Grunde genommen die Legitimität des Staates Israel in Frage stelle. Stephane Richard, CEO des französischen Kommunikationsunter­nehmens Orange, goss Öl ins Feuer, als er vor ägyptischem Publikum seinen Wunsch äußerte, den Lizenzvertrag mit der israelischen Firma Partner zu beenden. Richard ging kurz darauf auf Abstand zu seinen eigenen Äußerungen und reiste nach Israel, um sich persönlich zu entschuldigen. In einer Zeitungsanzeige sprachen sich 1400 israelische Intellektuelle für den Boykott von Produkten aus, die in den Siedlungen hergestellt werden.
