About the authors C ornel Ban is an assistant professor of political economy at the Pardee School for Global Studies at Boston University. His research focuses on international economic organizations, the diffusion of economic theories as well as the politics of economic crises and the development. He has a PhD from University of Maryland and was a postdoctoral fellow at Brown University. Daniela Gabor is an associate professor at the Bristol Business School, University of the West of England. Her research focuses on shadow banking activities, transnational banks’ involvement in policy deliberations around capital controls and crisis and the IMF’s conditionality and advice on capital controls.
