Abstract
Paris and Munich are two examples of cities that are ambitiously pushing ahead socio-ecological transformation. Which goals are the municipalities pursuing and how can the socio-ecological transformation succeed? The policy paper presents possibilities on how to overcome political resistance and how to ensure the participation of citiziens. Cities are built for people. Two surveys highlight what makes a city worth living in and which participation processes are promising.
