Zusammenfassung
The coronavirus pandemic poses unprecedented challenges to the field of education. Pupils, parents, teachers, school administrators and education policymakers are facing dramatically changed circumstances. The fast-changing situation called for short-term solutions, which were developed with a lot of commitment and endeavours from the actors involved.
But in the upcoming school year 2020/21 no return to normal will be possible, as the effects of the pandemic will remain noticeable in the new school year. In order to master the upcoming challenges and to provide a form of orientation, an expert commission was set up by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in May 2020. The commission drew up recommendations for the main areas of action and developed suggestions on how high-quality teaching and learning processes can be ensured while implementing strict control and hygiene measures.
